Lot Supervisor - ADESA Portland

Summary: Ensure the lot is properly organized and adequately staffed for each sale and efficient and effective function of the entire lot in accordance with corporate guidelines to ensure maximum production volume in the most profitable way possible.
Job Description:
Principal Duties:
Make sure customers receive prompt, efficient and courteous attention from all employees.
Prepares and manages auction day activities by ensuring proper staffing levels, setting up auction according to designated lot numbers, sorting of vehicles, and ensuring positive auction flow of vehicles.
Monitor lot conditions to ensure they are within corporate standards for proper maintenance and safety. Conduct daily inspections to determine if appearance meets these standards. Perform cleaning duties and assign other cleaning duties to employees.
Assure good operating condition of all equipment including fork lift trucks, tow trucks and rollbacks.
Advise Maintenance of all breakdowns and maintenance immediately. Ensure good routine preventive maintenance.
Make sure all lot conditions do not threaten employee or customer safety. Respond to and follow proper procedures on employee and customer accidents, injuries, and loss or damage to any property. Report all incidents to the immediately. Practice and instruct all employees in proper loss prevention and reaction procedures.
Supervises and coordinates the activities of the yard staff (could include security staff), including assigning and establishing work schedules; performance management; recruiting; training workers in job duties and safety policies and procedures and coordinating activities with other departments.
May be responsible for building/yard maintenance
Performs other related duties as required.
Educational/Experience Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent in education/experience
Previous related experience in a supervisory role
Valid driver's license
Ability to drive all makes/models of vehicles
Must be willing to work in various weather conditions
Excellent people management, communication, interpersonal, negotiation and customer service skills
Excellent organizational, time management and prioritization skills with the ability to juggle demands and meet deadlines
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
