Shelter Duties Work with Facilities Manager to coordinate shelter volunteer schedule and special projects Stock and maintain inventory of facility supplies.
Verify orders for accuracy and completeness.
Inventory office supplies, building supplies, all shelter materials and equipment with accountability for their proper use and distribution.
Maintain systems for clothing, food and supply donations.
This includes how supplies are sorted, stored and transported to and from shelter.
The main areas of maintenance include; pantry, clothing/linen closet, participant kitchen, and the donation room.
Be a point of contact for the shelter wish list, donations, and in person donation pickup and drop off of donations Sort through pantry on a routine basis, check for expiration dates, and stock kitchen with items for participant use.
Oversee special dietary accommodations for participants.
Support Facilities Manager with food bank orders, donation pickups, storage runs, and organizing/ inventorying building needs.
Work with shelter staff to ensure that participant rooms are maintained and available for survivors who enter shelter Provide support to shelter staff with moving desks, file cabinets etc.
including assembling office furniture.
Conduct minor light housekeeping duties when needed Assure that shelter, grounds, and all equipment is maintained in a safe and clean manner, and in proper working order; working as a liaison with appropriate community partners.
Community Office Duties Work with staff and outside organizations during special events/meetings to assist in the reconfiguring of meeting tables and chairs when necessary.
Provide support to programs with moving desks, file cabinets etc.
including assembling office furniture.
Process approved supply orders and ordering, stocking of custodial supplies.
Order, stock and maintain inventory of facility supplies.
Verify orders for accuracy and completeness.
Provide front-desk relief to the receptionist on an as needed basis.
Participate on Safety Committee for organization.
Conduct deep cleaning activities as needed, including but not limited to carpet cleaning, gutter cleaning, and power washing.
Maintain grounds surrounding building including maintaince and trash removal.
Conduct other light housekeeping duties as needed.

High school diploma or GED.
Related
Experience:
a minimum of one year of custodial experience in the use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances.
Understanding of cleaning standards in a day care setting and ability to perform minor repairs in a facility.
Strong problem-solving skills and history of dependability.
Strong soft-skills:
with little to no prompting, adapt work and communication style to mitigate and/or de-escalate crisis, and to best support our participants, staff, and community partners.
